About Penn Masala:
Since its inception in 1996, Penn Masala has generated a large fanbase world-wide, particularly in North America and increasingly in India. Penn Masala has performed to sold-out audiences of thousands of people at venues all over the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and India. Along with touring year-round all over the world, Penn Masala has also had the great pleasure of performing for dignitaries such as Barrack Obama, Henry Kissinger, Ban Ki Moon, and Farooq Abdullah, as well as a number of Indian celebrities including Imran Khan and Rajkumar Hirani. They have performed alongside musical legends such as Oscar winner A.R. Rahman and Sunidhi Chauhan, and also have songs in the hit 2001 movie American Desi.
Penn Masala has released seven albums, all of which have been very well-received by fans of all ages, and continues to make waves. Just this month, the group toured in Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey and the United Kingdom, where they performed for the Hinduja Brothers as well as the 6th richest man in the world, Lakshmi Narayan Mittal. Just a few months ago, Penn Masala released their seventh full-length studio album, Panoramic. This album, recently also launched on iTunes, features new Hindi-English fusion covers arranged by the group, as well as two original tracks, and reached number 4 in iTunes World Music during the summer of 2011.
