MUMBAI—Going by buzz, “Tubelight,” as we predicted some time back, is one film that is breaking records even before its trailer. The makers of the film have now joined hands with Facebook to create a cover video for the official film page, a feature that is a first for any Hindi film.

The cover video (watch here) features actor-producer Salman Khan doing the signature hook step from the film’s recently-released song “Radio,” which has already taken listeners by storm.

With, first, a character emoji on Twitter and now a video cover, “Tubelight” is setting milestone after milestone.

Amar Butala, COO, Salman Khan Films, said, “Our main aim is to steer away from the regular path. We have done things differently for every Salman Khan film, and ‘Tubelight’ is no different. Considering Salman Khan and his super-stardom, Facebook is one of the best platforms to help us reach out to his fans and lead the film to greater success!”

Gautam B. Thakker, CEO, EveryMedia Technologies Pvt. Ltd., added, “We as a digital agency are always looking to innovate and set new trends. Salman Khan Films and Facebook have been extremely supportive in helping us set new benchmarks in the digital universe. The cover video feature is a first for any film in India, and we hope to set more benchmarks through our efforts.”

“Tubelight” is produced by Salma Khan and Salman Khan and directed by Kabir Khan with Salman Khan, Sohail Khan and Zhu Zhu. It is co-produced by Amar Butala. The Eid release has music by Pritam.

Salman Khan had unveiled this song, written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and sung by Kamaal Khan, a few days earlier in Dubai. He had said, “Dada (Pritam) has a knack for coming up with instantly hummable numbers. From the time I first heard ‘Radio,’ I can't stop humming it. Aap sunenge to aap bhi gayenge.”
