Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, along with co-stars Irrfan Khan, Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher and Chandan Roy Sanyal attended the first day of the script session for "Jazbaa," Tuesday. This was Aishwarya's first day of work as she returns to the movies after a 5-year break.

The actors of the film are taking part in detailed script-reading sessions to acquaint themselves with their respective characters and other's character better. "Internationally, it's the norm. It helps the cast bond with each other before the shooting starts. It’s a better arrangement than having the actors reach the sets and directly begin reading their lines in front of each other," says director Sanjay Gupta.

The session was to begin Friday, but was postponed by a few days due to Irrfan's ill health. Gupta says, "Yes, we would have done it on Friday, but Irrfan was bedridden, so we couldn't."
