MUMBAI— Pen Movies and Reliance Entertainment, in association with Blockbuster Movie Entertainers, have announced the release date of their film “Namaste England” as Dec. 7.

The Arjun Kapoor-Parineeti Chopra film went on floors recently in Amritsar, with director Vipul Amrutlal Shah and the lead pair taking blessings at the Golden Temple.

The story traces the journey of Jasmeet and Param, tracking their love story across the landscapes of India and Europe. Starting from Punjab and moving to Ludhiana, Amritsar, Dhaka and all the way to Paris followed by Brussels and finally to London; it is a fun love story.

The director had earlier filmed in Chandigarh and Patiala for the Salman Khan-Ajay Devgn film “London Dreams” (2009) and for “Namastey London” (2007) still earlier with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. This is the first time he will be shooting in Amritsar and Shah, who loves Punjab, was looking forward to it. “We are filming at more than 75 locations spread across these three cities,” he said.

The director said that this was the perfect time to be in Punjab as the weather is neither too hot nor too cold and the crops make for stunning visuals. “Both their characters are from Punjab. Away from the camera, Arjun and Parineeti are good friends and are always joking and playing pranks. It is going to be fun working with them,” he added.

Kapoor and Chopra have been prepping for a few weeks. They have gone through dance rehearsals, costume trials and readings. “You will see a completely new Arjun and Parineeti,” Shah promised.

Kapoor took to social media, sharing his nervousness and excitement about starting the shoot for his 11th film. On commencing the shoot, Arjun Kapoor shared, “Starting a journey, need the blessings, nervous & excited about my film #Number11 #NamasteEngland.”

The actor also shared an image of the clap with co-star Chopra saying, “Letz go to work.”

Written by Suresh Nair and Ritesh Shah, the film has music by Mannan Shah and lyrics by Javed Akhtar.
