MUMBAI—Filmmaker Kabir Khan will be helming his first-ever original digital series, an Amazon Original titled “The Forgotten Army.”

This will also mark Khan’s debut in the OTT digital video service space. Khan has many super-hit and critically acclaimed films such as “Kabul Express,” “New York,” “Ek Tha Tiger” and “Bajrangi Bhaijaan.” The director commenced shooting for the web series Dec. 17 in Mumbai.

Based on true events, this series is the story of the men and women who fought a heroic war for the independence of India as part of the Indian National Army, which was forged out of British defeat in Singapore during World War II and was led by the charismatic Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

The Amazon Original is created by Kabir Khan Films and will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
