MUMBAI—The first teaser of Shraddha Kapoor’s “Haseena Parkar” was unveiled Jun. 16 at the office of Facebook in Mumbai. Kapoor plays the role of Haseena Parkar, the sister of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Kapoor shared the first teaser on Twitter, “Here is the teaser! - hope you guys like it ---- http://bit.ly/HaseenaParkarTeaser … #HaseenaParkarTeaser @ApoorvaLakhia @SiddhanthKapoor @AnkBhatia.”

The actress was accompanied by her film’s director Apoorva Lakhia and co-star Ankur Bhatia. Dressed in a customized ‘Haseena’ T-shirt, Kapoor was also seen writing on the FB wall. However, her brother Siddhanth Kapoor, who plays the role of Dawood Ibrahim, was missing from the promotions but has been active on Twitter, sharing all the updates of the movie.

While Kapoor’s teaser of the film has created excitement, what is little known is that the actress will be portraying Haseena from the age of 17 till her late 40s, that is, from being a teenager to a married mother.

Lakhia went back and forth with makeup artist Subhash Shinde, hairstylist Simran Devi, stylist Eka Lakhani and costume designers Harpreet and Ajay for almost a year to bring out the perfect look for her. Once the look was finalized, the director made sure that it was kept under wraps. For their entire shooting schedule, the team was not allowed to bring mobile phones on sets. Kapoor even traveled to the set by covering her face in muslin. She would be careful not to get out without covering herself and made sure of this even during breaks.

The film is produced by Nahid Khan with Swiss Entertainment and co-produced by Sameer Antulay and Babu Tyagi. It is set to release Aug. 18.
