MUMBAI— The makers of the Diljit Dosanjh film “Soorma” unveiled the trailer of the film in Mumbai on Jun. 11. Present at the event were real-life hockey ace Sandeep Singh, on whom the biopic is based, leading man and “reel Sandeep Singh” Diljit Dosanjh, Taapsee Pannu, Angad Bedi, director Shaad Ali and producer Chitrangda Singh,
The cast was also seen posing along with a hockey bat. “Soorma” is an inspiring true story of the human spirit, about a player who made headlines for his miraculous comeback after an unfortunate accident. It is a lesser-known fact that Singh has been hailed as one of the world’s most dangerous drag-flickers of all time, with drag speeds of over 145 kilometers per hour, a fact that led to his nickname, Flicker Singh.
Produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions, Chitrangda Singh and Deepak Singh, “Soorma” has music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics by Gulzar. It is slated to release on Jul. 13.
