MUMBAI — There have been reports that actress Jacqueline Fernandez has reunited with her ex-boyfriend Sheikh Hassan bin Rashid al Khalifa, but the actress avoided clearing up the rumor at an event here.

At the launch of LeEco’s LeSuperphone May 3, when Fernandez, who was accompanied by Sidharth Malhotra, was asked whether she is single or if she has gotten back together with her ex-boyfriend, she said: “I don’t know about me being single, but I’m definitely into releasing a single (track). We should do it with our film (Looks toward Malhotra).”

There were reports a few days back that Fernandez had gotten back together with Khalifa, who is the prince of Bahrain. Reportedly, the two were in a relationship for two years and called it quits in 2011.

PTI adds: Malhotra and Fernandez are set to star in the remake of “Bang Bang,” an action-comedy film to be directed by filmmaker-duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. However, the actor clarified that it’s not a sequel to the Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif starrer “Bang Bang.”

“Our film is not a sequel to ‘Bang Bang.’ For the first time, I’ll be working with a two-director team. It has a lot of action, quirky comedy and a love story. We are shooting in Miami and Malaysia. I am preparing for the action in that. We are starting by the end of this week,” Malhotra told reporters.

The “Kapoor and Sons” actor said he is excited to team up with Fernandez, with whom he earlier worked with in “Brothers.”

“I am very excited, but there’s no need for excitement, because she herself brings that along with her. I am really looking forward to shooting with her. You will see her do a bit of action,” he said.

Recently, there were reports that the film was titled “Reloaded.” Malhotra, however, said the team has yet to come up with a title.

“The title is not that. We have kept it a mystery, as we want to come up with the best title. But it is definitely not a part two of anything,” he said.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the team. Raj, DK, Jacqueline — we all have gotten along really well (with each other). It’s going to be an entertaining action film,” he further said.

Nidimoru and DK previously directed films like “Go Goa Gone,” “Shor in the City” and the 2014 Saif Ali Khan-starrer “Happy Ending.”

Malhotra added that apart from doing action movies, he would “love” to play a superhero onscreen.

“I would love to play a superhero. I almost missed becoming that earlier, but there are some plans. I’ve grown up watching those films. So of course, another Indian superhero would be something I am looking forward to,” he said.

Commenting on the legal battle between Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut, Fernandez said she hopes that the ongoing feud between the two stars ends soon.

The two actors have been at loggerheads since the “Queen” star called Roshan her ‘silly ex.’ The feud between Roshan and his “Krrish 3” co-star turned nasty after they slapped legal notices on each other.

When asked about her views on the topic, Fernandez told reporters: “I hope it just finishes and ends, because I know how difficult (it is)... what they must be going through right now. I hope it comes to an end soon.”

Malhotra, respecting the two stars’ privacy, refrained from commenting on the issue.

“It is somebody’s personal matter, and I have no knowledge. It is not right for me to comment,” Malhotra said.

Roshan, who was the first to send the legal notice, has demanded that Ranaut apologize in a press conference and clear the air about their alleged affair, which he firmly refutes.

Ranaut slapped a counter-notice on Roshan, claiming the actor was slut-shaming her.
