MUMBAI—The trailer of “Veerey Ki Wedding” was launched on Feb.1 and the makers of the film promised that both the promo and film will tickle the audience’s funny-bone. The quirky comedy, starring Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda and Jimmy Shergill, is written by Dilip Shukla and directed by Asshu Trikha.

The trailer gives a glimpse of the chemistry between lead actors Samrat and Kharbanda and the hurdles that they face before they unite in marriage.

The movie is a family entertainer with music by Meet Bros. and also features Satish Kaushik, Supriya Karnik, Dr. Rajesh Bakshi and Yuvika Choudhary in pivotal roles.

Present at the trailer launch event were Samrat, Kharbanda, Dr. Bakshi, director Trikha, Meet Brothers and producers Rajat Bakshi and Parmod Gomber. Produced by Make My Day Entertainments, it releases through Panorama Studios March 9.

The film’s title has obvious similarities to Anil Kapoor’s “Veerey Di Wedding” featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor and others, but after a case was filed by the latter film’s producers, a judge dismissed the petition against this small movie. As it happens, this film will release much before the Kapoor show and might quite possibly steal its thunder if it is a better or an equally good product, as many in the audience are confused about both films.
