MUMBAI — She’s become a student, as she has to learn various skills for her role in “Rangoon.” Perfectionist Kangana Ranaut is training in ballet, sword fighting and horseback riding for the film produced by Vishal Bhardwaj. The training will take three months.
Ranaut plays Julia, a Broadway star — this is the film for which she had spent a few weeks in NYC working as part of a Broadway production. A trainer from the U.S. who specializes in the dance styles she needs to learn for her character has also been flown in.
Ranaut will be training with martial arts masters of sword fighting from an Ashram in Kerala and will learn horseback riding from a trainer in Jaipur.
“Rangoon” stars Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor. Ranaut is on a high after her recent film “Tanu Weds Manu Returns” crossed the domestic 150 crore mark, making it the second biggest hit of the year so far.
