MUMBAI — Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan says her sister, actress Karishma Kapoor, is not going to make a comeback in Bollywood in the near future.

Daughter of actor Randhir Kapoor and Babita, Karishma gave some memorable performances in films like “Anari,” “Raja Babu,” “Coolie No. 1,” “Saajan Chale Sasural” and “Jeet” but bagged laurels for her acting in “Raja Hindustani,” “Biwi No.1” and “Dil to Pagal Hai.” Her critically acclaimed films include “Fiza” and Shaym Benegal’s “Zubeidaa.”

“Right now, she is very happy in her space. I doubt if she is ready for that (films) or not. She is not thinking of doing anything,” Kareena told PTI in an exclusive interview here.

National award-winning actress Karishma married Delhi-based industrialist Sunjay Kapur in 2003 and have two children — Samaira and Kiaan Raj. The couple had a difficult marriage and have filed for a mutual divorce.

She took a sabbatical after her marriage but made a comeback in 2012 with the film “Dangerous Ishq,” which bombed at the box office.

“I don’t think she wants to come onscreen again, but she does lots of advertisements, as that doesn’t take much time. She is looking more pretty after the kids, and I don’t think she can dedicate that much time,” she said.

Kareena says she looks up to her sister and calls Karishma her “inspiration.”

“She always advises me and has been an inspiration, not only for me but for other women as well. She is looking her best even after having two children. I will always aspire to be like her,” Kareena said.

When asked how she juggles her professional and personal life, the “Jab We Met” actress said for her, family comes first before everything.

“I have always been a responsible daughter and sister. For me, my family comes first before anything else in life. Work is not everything for me. I always try to take out time for my mother, sister, niece and nephew. It’s important to spend time with the loved ones,” she said.

The 34-year-old actress is looking forward to her next release, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan,” opposite Salman Khan. She will later be seen in Abhishek Chaubey’s “Udta Punjab” alongside actor Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
