MUMBAI — With Katrina Kaif and Farhan Akhtar’s splits with their partners, the list is complete — of breakups in the real lives of the entire lead cast of the 2011 movie “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara!” In the film, finally, Hrithik Roshan and Kaif come together, while Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin decide to part ways after their engagement.
It all began with Kaif moving out of Salman Khan’s life (despite remaining friends and working as a co-actor, and now reportedly returning to him!). This was followed by Koechlin’s divorce from husband Anurag Kashyap. In 2015, Deol split with long-term girlfriend Preeti Desai. This was followed by the shocker news that Hrithik Roshan had split with his wife of over 10 years, Susanne Khan.
In early 2016, after rumors of Kaif spending New Year in a secluded island with Ranbir Kapoor, the live-in partners split despite sharing a flat worth several crore (in deposit) and over a million as monthly rent. The latest is that Farhan Akhtar (who had also co-written, co-produced, acted in and sang in the film) has split from his wife Adhuna Bhabani (six years his senior) after 15 years of marriage and two daughters.
Ironically, the film’s title means “You Never Live Twice,” and it was written and directed by Farhan Akhtar’s real-life sister, Zoya Akhtar, who as of yet is unmarried, despite rumors of a romantic liaison with a (foreigner) cameraman some years back.
But isn’t the coincidence uncanny?
