MUMBAI — Nikhil Advani’s next production “Lucknow Central” is a comedy. Originally announced in May to select media, the film will mark the directorial debut of Ranjit Tiwari, who has worked as an assistant director to Advani. The film will be produced under the banner of Emmay Entertainment.
The story is set in Lucknow but has nothing to do with Lucknow, Advani said. Advani’s last production, “Airlift,” was a hit, and people believed that the film would star Akshay Kumar. However, after the script was ‘locked,’ Advani decided to cast the film with Tiwari, and now it will be Farhan Akhtar and Kriti Sanon who will play the leads.
Besides this, Advani is busy working on his own directorial venture “Bazaar,” which is about power, obsession and a tumultuous relationship between two men and the stock market. Even here, Kumar was never supposed to be in the cast. This film will go on floors in December.
