Lucknow — The Uttar Pradesh government Aug. 31 announced the exemption of entertainment tax on Priyanka Chopra-starrer “Mary Kom.”

"As the movie is based on the life of boxer Mary Kom, it will be an inspiration for women of the state. The chief minister has decided to exempt it from entertainment tax," an official spokesperson said here.

The sports biopic, which is based on the life of Olympic bronze medal winner Mary Kom, is scheduled to release Sept. 5 and is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in collaboration with Viacom 18.
