MUMBAI—Going with the ideology of “Heroes make resolutions, but superheroes start revolutions,” this year, Akshay Kumar and Team “PadMan,” urge you to say “NO TO NICOTINE.”

A social awareness video created by the team, and starring Akshay Kumar, drives home this message crisply but trenchantly. Kumar also tweeted about the same.

Admittedly, this is part of the PR strategy for “Pad Man,” directed by R. Balki and starring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in lead roles. But a social message of this wide canvas is well thought of and executed. As Kumar says in the video, “Herogiri yeh peene main nahin hai, yeh dene mein hai! (Heroism is not in smoking, but in distributing sanitary napkins).” The video brings in an interesting link between the two.
