MUMBAI — Anil Sharma, who has directed the cult film “Gadar – Ek Prem Katha” is on cloud nine. He will soon be launching his son Utkarsh Sharma in his upcoming production titled “Genius.” The director has started a nationwide hunt to search for the movie’s leading actress. And, even before this young man’s film takes off, he has wishes pouring in from one and all!

Star associates of the director, who has immense goodwill within the industry, have wished him and his son good luck, led by Amitabh Bachchan, who worked with him in his maiden production in 2004, “Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo.”

Besides Zareen Khan, whom he introduced in the 2010 “Veer,” and Urvashi Rautela (in the 2013 “Singh Saab The Great”), Priyanka Chopra, who also worked with him in her first film “The Hero: Love Story of a Spy” in 2003, took to social media to post a cute video wishing his son all the luck and success on his debut film. She also appealed to the young talent out there to send in their entries for the hunt.

Gushing with pride, Anil Sharma said: “This is a very sweet gesture on Priyanka’s part. I launched all of them into the world of cinema. Priyanka was brilliant in ‘The Hero,’ and I knew it back then that she had it in her to make it big!  To have her support my son even before he makes his debut makes me immensely proud as a father. Utkarsh has put in a lot of effort, and I am sure he will impress the audience with his acting chops!”
