MUMBAI — He is all ready to “relive the magic” in this sequel to his 2008 musical film “Rock On!!” Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar took to Twitter Sept. 2 to release the first poster of his much-awaited film “Rock On!! 2.”

With a play on the word “magic” and the name of the film’s Mumbai-based rock band “Magik,” Akhtar tweeted: “Woohooo! Here we go... #RockOn2 poster. #ReliveTheMagik.”

“Rock On!!” launched the acting careers of Prachi Desai and Akhtar. Akhtar even produced the film, which also stars Arjun Rampal, Luke Kenny and Purab Kohli. The film was about the fate of rock band Magik, of which its members reunite after a decade-long split.

“Ek Villain” star Shraddha Kapoor has joined the band for the sequel.

She tweeted: “And HERE IT IS! @ShujaatSaudagar @FarOutAkhtar @rampalarjun @Purab_Kohli @ShashankSArora #ReliveTheMagik #RockOn2.”

The film also features Shashank Arora.

In the poster, Akhtar, in his bearded look and intense facial expression, contrasted by Kapoor's demure look, seems ready to enthrall music lovers, while Rampal is seen striking a pose in the background. Kohli also finds a spot in the poster.

With the tag line “Every generation finds its voice,” the poster is appealing and intriguing. If the poster is anything to go by, then the film will open a new chapter on music mixed with a myriad of emotions intertwined with drama on the silver screen.

“Rock On!! 2” will not only be backed by powerful music but also by the scenic beauty of northeast India. A major portion of the film has been shot in Shillong, which is often referred to as India’s rock capital.

Directed by Shujaat Saudagar, “Rock On!! 2” is set to release Nov. 11.
