JAIPUR — The Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to state police and local authorities, seeking a detailed report of the car accident involving Bhartya Janata Party MP Hema Malini, which killed a four-year-old girl.

After taking cognizance of media reports, in which the girl’s father, Hanuman Mahajan, claimed that her life could have been saved had she been rushed to a private hospital along with the actress, the commission issued the notice July 7.

“The commission took cognizance of (media) reports and issued the notices yesterday to the SP and District CMHO, seeking a detailed report of the incident,” M.K. Devrajan, a member of the commission, told PTI July 8.

Meanwhile, Malini, in her tweets on July 8, held the father responsible for the mishap, saying it could have been averted had Mahajan followed traffic rules.

“How I wish the girl’s father had followed the traffic rules - then this accident could have been averted & the lil one’s life safe!” she tweeted.
