MUMBAI—After many attempts to get others on board, “Bahubali” Prabhas has finally bagged Shraddha Kapoor as his female lead. As this is his maiden home production, the idea is to have a pan-Indian appeal, and so bigger South names were nixed, and a Hindi film actress was sought.
But if he is romancing Kapoor, Prabhas will also be fighting against three villains also from the Mumbai industry, and each one is an ex-leading man who has enough experience in negative characters for quite a while now. Jackie Shroff has been added to the roster of baddies Neil Nitin Mukesh and Chunky Pandey.
While Pandey’s character is dark, Shroff’s is suave and cool, and Mukesh is shown as a tech-savvy nerd.
Shroff even told a tabloid, “I am happy to be a part of a film with Prabhas, who is one of the biggest actors in India at the moment. It’s wonderful to know that he trusts me and thinks I can pull off this kind of a role. I have seen both the “Bahubali” films and loved them. They reminded me of my childhood.” Incidentally, Kapoor moves from son Tiger Shroff as her hero in “Baaghi” to dad Jackie as the villain here!
The film’s shoot has already commenced in Hyderabad, and Shroff joins the unit next week. The film will be helmed by Sujeeth and will be made in three different languages – Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
