Salman Khan-starrer “Kick,” which released in theaters July 25, has earned a total of Rs. 226.98 crore in the domestic (Indian) market after its third weekend at the box office, leaving behind Shahrukh Khan’s “Chennai Express,” which earned a total of Rs. 226.70 crore last year.
After having surpassed “Chennai Express” quite easily, “Kick” is at the second spot, right after “Dhoom:3,” in domestic collections, making it Salman’s highest grossing film ever. The movie has also done Rs. 366 crore gross worth of business worldwide as of now, and if trade pundits are to be believed, it’s still going strong. This also makes Sajid Nadiadwala the first debutant director with a Rs. 300-crore movie to his credit.
The Salman-Jacqueline Fernandez action-romance was touted to break records even before its release. Looks like Rs. 300 crore is going to be the new box-office benchmark for Bollywood’s superstars. Are Aamir “PK” Khan and Shahrukh “Happy New Year” Khan listening?
