Off and on, Salman Khan has talked about wanting higher footfalls for cinemas. He has now taken a constructive step towards this by starting a chain of six theaters with cheaper movie tickets.

Six single screens in Maharashtra have been roped in, and more are being explored. Tickets here will be available at heavily subsidized rates while children will be admitted free. Khan will be launching each screen himself.

The actor, whose films command the highest box office earnings (his last four films have collected over Rs. 1,120 crore net in India alone!), wants people to watch films at affordable rates. That is when he feels that a Rs. 200 crore-grossing film will have real meaning as a hit!
