Top 10 SRK

According to Forbes' just-released list of top earning actors, Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan are among the 10 highest paid actors in the world.

Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar are indeed the two most profitable stars in the Indian film industry. The two are prolific and relentless when it comes to signing and shooting for new projects. According to the just-released list of top-earning actors in the film industry, Shah Rukh Khan and Kumar rank at number 8 and 10, respectively as the highest paid male actors in the world. With Khan making $33 million and Kumar 31.5 million.

We are almost three quarters of the way into the year and already four of Kumar's released films — "Airlift," "Housefull 3," "Dishoom" and "Rustom" — have done blockbuster business.

Shah Rukh Khan, on the other hand, has had tough luck in movies this year. His last two releases, "Dilwale" (2015) and "Fan," failed to rake in the expected moolah at the box office. Despite this, he remains the king of endorsements and mints money by endorsing brands such as Hyundai, Royal Stag, Airtel, Pond's and Frooti to name a few.

Dwayne Johnson 'The Rock' topped the list with total earnings of 64.5 million last year. One of Hollywood's most loved action heroes has been on a roll since the launch of the "Fast and Furious" franchise. His 2015 film "San Andreas" did $473 million in business, according to Forbes.

Jackie Chan is at number 2 with total earnings of $61 million. Matt Damon comes in at number 3 with $55 million, Tom Cruise at number 4 with $53 millon, and Johnny Depp at number 5 with total earnings of $48 million.

That's not all — there are more Indian actors in the top 20. Salman Khan takes the number 14 spot with total earnings of $28.5 million, beating Leonardo Decaprio, who ranks 15th with total earnings of $27 million.

Then there is Amitabh Bachchan at number 19 with total earnings of $20 million.

The Indian entertainers are indeed making us proud. After Deepika Padukone made her debut on the top 10 highest paid actresses in the world list, seeing the names above makes it certain that our very own Bollywood stars are here for the long haul.
