MUMBAI — Yash Raj Films has made the impossible happen with Shah Rukh Khan’s nattily-dressed Madame Tussauds wax figure being re-dressed and kept for a while at the London Eye! And Khan himself has paid a visit to the London museum to meet this newly dressed version of himself.

It’s a first of its kind — the world-famous London museum has re-dressed its Shah Rukh Khan figure as Gaurav, his character in “Fan,” the new YRF-SRK film that is releasing worldwide April 15. The figure will actually step out, for the very first time, enthralling fans at the iconic London Eye. This ‘Fan’ moment is unprecedented in Madame Tussauds’ history!

Yash Raj Films has conceptualized this unique exercise to connect with SRK fans. And to increase the hype, Khan took a trip to London and posed with the wax figure as part of his "Fan" promotions April 13.

Khan even tweeted a homemade video of his experience with Gaurav at Madame Tussauds:

Avtar Panesar, vice president of YRF International, who very recently moved to London, said, “We have had a long-standing relationship with Madame Tussauds and hold the attraction in high esteem. Placing the figure as a film character at a public place where crowds throng is an exciting opportunity for SRK fans. This is our way of returning the love of the fans that make our films what they are.”

Madame Tussauds has stepped up for “Fan” in more ways than one — a scene in “Fan” was actually shot at the museum. Its cooperation with the film is influenced by the massive popularity that its Hindi cinema area enjoys.

General Manager Edward Fuller commented: “We have a long and strong relationship with the Indian film industry, and our Bollywood figures are hugely popular with guests. We’re delighted the attraction is featured in “Fan” and excited to be celebrating the release of the film by re-dressing Shah Rukh’s figure and taking it to the London Eye for his fans to see and grab a selfie!”

Yash Raj Films has innovated at many levels from its making to postproduction to VFX and digital work for “Fan.” Naturally, its promotions too have a unique and grand touch to them. After all, this is the banner’s 10th film with this Khan!
