MUMBAI — Shah Rukh Khan, at the time of “Dilwale,” had admitted that he once again wanted to be “busier” and do three films or more at one time. Now that “Fan” (with a double role) is about to release and “Raees” (in which he portrays a Gujarati don) is complete, he is working on a film each with Imtiaz Ali (starring Anushka Sharma), in which he plays a Sikh; Gauri Shinde (starring Alia Bhatt), in which he is an early middle-aged man; and Aanand L. Rai, in which he is cast as a dwarf.
Reports now suggest that SRK has asked Shimit Amin, who approached him for his next, to work on the script, which means he is convinced with the line of thought behind the project. If variety is the spice of life, SRK sure is looking for a lot of spice nowadays — and getting it! Superstars, after all, are never rattled by one flop — note that while “Dilwale” made a packet in so many overseas countries, in India, SRK paid back half the losses suffered by many distributors.
The last time this director-actor duo worked together, we got “Chak De! India.” Amin has since directed the Ranbir Kapoor-starring, critically-appreciated flop, “Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year.”
