MUMBAI — Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was recently awarded the Most Glamorous Star (Female) award at the Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards, and Rekha presented her with the honor. Rekha then quipped, “Aishwarya’s mum (Vrinda) kept seeing my photos when she was pregnant, and this is the result!”

This is not the first time Rekha and Ash have complimented each other onstage. In 2015, Ash was presented with the Power-Packed Performer Award for her comeback film “Jazbaa,” again by Rekha. And a thrilled Ash had said, “It’s great to receive this honor from maa (mother)!”

Well, keeping in mind the Amitabh Bachchan-Rekha relationship of yore and how it ended, it’s nice to see a member of the clan and Rekha on such great terms. Not so long ago, Rekha and Jaya Bachchan were caught by the paparazzi having a great time and a hearty laugh together. Not to mention Rekha making a cameo in Abhishek Bachchan’s co-production “Shamitabh” starring Bachchan senior. As a final point, Bachchan has openly expressed his willingness to do a film with Rekha if a script justifies their presence.

Great to know that a ‘Silsila’ of the past has led over decades to the level that both parties are letting bygones be bygones.
