MUMBAI—Sunny Deol’s son Karan is being introduced in Sunny Deol’s next directorial “Pal Pal De Ke Paas.” However, a little-known fact is that Sunny Deol ardently wished to bring his son Karan and his first co-star Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Ali Khan together in their maiden appearance. However, Singh is said to have shot Deol’s idea down.
Though Singh is said to have denied that Deol ever approached her, the fact is that he was very keen to launch Singh’s daughter with his son. The two have shared a very strong bond of friendship ever since they were launched together in “Betaab.”
So Deol never expected that Singh would be reluctant about launching Sara with Karan. The sensitive Deol sensed her lack of enthusiasm for the idea and withdrew the offer, instead of Singh rejecting it, a close source told a section of the media.
Singh was taken up with the idea of her daughter being launched by Karan Johar. This, of course, did not happen and Sara will now be seen for the first time with Sushant Singh Rajput in Abhishek Kapoor’s “Kedarnath,” which is, of course, a big film.
The relation between the Deols and Sara Ali Khan’s paternal grandmother Sharmila Tagore as well as mother Singh goes back a long way. Here’s a look.
