MUMBAI—Zee TV’s dance reality show “Dance India Dance,” this weekend, had a special treat for its viewers as ‘Dream Girl’ Hema Malini was there as the celebrity guest on the show.

The actress captured everyone’s hearts once again as she stepped on to stage draped in a beautiful golden saree. In the presence of the legendary actress, the contestants were excited to display their talent and win her praise. Malini showered each contestant with praises and commended their passion.

Master Mudassar Khan, who is Malini’s huge fan, requested her to enact an iconic scene from “Sholay.” Sportingly, the actress hopped onto a Tanga and recreated the magic of the scene where Basanti first comes face-to-face with Jai and Veeru. Master Mudassar and Master Marzi played Jai and Veeru respectively.

Marzi and Mudassar even danced to her song “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” from the film and dedicated the performance to her. They also thanked the ‘Dream Girl’ for giving them an opportunity to be a part of the scene with her.

Apart from these fun-filled moments, the viewers witnessed a bunch of exceptional performances by contestants. Sanket Gaonkar’s act to “Rakt Charitra,” Piyush’s performance on “Tujhe Bhula Diya” and Paramdeep’s energetic “Badtameez Dil” impressed judges.

It is perhaps a sign of the all-pervading mediocrity of our times that no one, on a dance reality show, asked the actress to recreate any of her iconic dances that were her trademark since she made her debut!
