Priyanka Chopra, who is one of the newest members of the Academy of Motion Picture of Arts & Sciences, will be making a big announcement Jan. 23.
The Indian actress has been chosen as one of the few actors to announce the list of nominations for the 90th Academy Awards. In making the announcement, she will be joining other big Hollywood stars like Zoe Saldana, Salma Hayek, Michelle Rodriguez, Rebel Wilson, Michelle Yeoh, and Rosario Dawson.
The nominations in all 24 Oscar categories will be announced in a two-part, live presentation Jan. 23, via global live stream on Oscar.com, Oscars.org, the Academy’s digital platforms, a satellite feed and local broadcasters. The announcement will combine live presentations from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater, with pre-taped category introductions, which will only be featured in the first half of the announcement.
The Academy made the announcement on their social media handles, writing: “Behind the scenes with @priyankachopra. Tune in to the #OscarNoms announcement on Tuesday at 5:22am PT.”
The sneak peak showed Chopra, looking classy in high-waisted black pants and a shimmery silver blouse, staring right into the camera.
Some reports also suggest that Chopra, who made quite a splash at Hollywood’s most-awaited night in 2017 in a white Zuhair Murad gown, might even take the stage as one of the presenters.
