Last season on “Blindspot,” NSA agent Nas Kamal, played by British Indian actress Archie Panjabi, took the heat for the failings of her NSA-FBI task force in the Project Sandstorm investigation, so agent Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and Jane (Jaimie Alexander) definitely owe her one. Now she’s back to collect, according to TV Insider.

Season 3 of the NBC crime drama series is currently taking a break to let people enjoy the Winter Olympics. “Blindspot” returns March 2 at 8/7c.

The Emmy Award-winning actress joined the show in Season 2 in a recurring role. The “Good Wife” star played the head of a secret off-book division of the NSA who aligned with the FBI to take down Sandstorm.

Explaining Panjabi’s appearance, executive producer Martin Gero told Entertainment Weekly: “We’re so elated to have the tremendous Archie Panjabi back for a very exciting one-off episode this year! I can’t say much about what will happen in the episode yet, but Nas will play a small but integral part in bringing down the bad guys this year.”

Previously, Gero had confessed to the weekly publication that “When we were lucky enough to cast her, we kept expanding her role, because she’s so great and we love having her.”

“Usually, with a character like this, we’d kill (her) off, but we just love having her around so much, and we didn’t need someone to die at this particular moment, so we left it with a question mark,” he was quoted as saying.

Panjabi will appear in an episode slated for the second half of the season.
