A reality TV show, filmed in Hollywood, which will feature six second-generation South Asian millennial women, is all set to be telecast on Zee TV.

Former Miss India Southern California Priyadarshini G. Roy is among the contestants on the English language reality program, titled, “Made in America,” which features former Miss America Nina Davaluri, as the host.

Zee TV America had the official launch party Aug. 2 at The Dream Hotel in downtown Manhattan, New York City, which was attended by over 200 guests.

The audition process, according to the channel, drew in over 6,000 applicants.

Over a period of ten weeks, the six contestants honed their skills by participating in grueling sessions encompassing physical training, beauty and wardrobe styling, dietary training, and personal talent training, as well as acting classes from the New York Film Academy.

The young women also participated in community outreach programs, alongside competing in challenges ranging from ‘Best Walk’ to ‘Best Wardrobe’ to ‘Best Swimwear’ and more.

A winner was chosen in each episode, and as the episodes went by, the number of contestants were whittled down from six to one.

“We realized that there was a need in the marketplace that was to reach younger South Asian women who had an enormous desire to be in the glamour world,” said Sameer Targe, CEO of Zee TV America. “We decided to launch ‘Made in America’ to give the opportunity and inspiration to these women to fulfill their dreams and create a platform for them to be able to showcase themselves.”

The first “Made in America” winner will be announced on Zee TV Oct. 10.

Prizes include walking on the runway for Andre’ Aquinol Couture at New York Fashion Week, a one-year modeling contract with a top New York City modeling agency, and an acting course from the New York Film Academy. The winner will also get an opportunity to be cast in an upcoming Bollywood movie as well as in a Zee TV show in the U.S.

Starting Aug. 10, “Made in America” will air on Zee TV every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
