Get ready for more shenanigans – read French accents, porta-potty gags, corny puns – as everyone’s favorite cops are back.
The full-length trailer of the long-anticipated sequel to Indian American writer, actor and director Jay Chandrasekhar’s “Super Troopers” is finally here, and no one is disappointed.
In the fresh red band trailer, when a border dispute arises between the U.S. and Canada, the Super Troopers are tasked with establishing a Highway Patrol station in the disputed area.
Chandrasekhar stars in the follow-up to the raunchy and slapstick comedy, which has been directed and co-written by him alongside Heffernan, Lemme, Soter, Stolhanke. The other leads include Linda Carter, Rob Lowe, Fred Savage, Brian Cox, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Will Sasso, Tyler Labine, and Hayes MacArthur.
Chandrashekhar reprises his role of Trooper Arcot “Thorny” Ramathorn in the sequel which will be released by Fox Searchlight April 20.
The film marks the return of Broken Lizard, the comedy troupe comprising Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske, who were behind the 2001 cult comedy classic.
“They’ve been waiting for another chance,” a voiceover narrates as the trailer begins. “They’ve been waiting for their country to need them again. That time is ‘meow.’” The first scene shows a bald eagle getting shot. “Guys, what do I win,” Hefferman as Farva asks. “A ticket to hell!” comments Chadrashekhar.
