MUMBAI—Two days ago, Kapil Sharma revealed his fiancée (Ginni aka Bhavneet Chitrath) as his decade-long girlfriend and explained that they had even participated as dance partners years ago on “Nach Baliye.”

Just after this sudden glimpse into Sharma’s fiercely-guarded private life, another report shocked friends and fans alike. This was about an alleged fight between Sharma and his fellow actor on the show, the versatile Sunil Grover. The incident reportedly took place mid-air, as the two were returning from their tour of Australia. Reports stated that Sharma, who was drunk, got into an argument with his crew member(s), and when Grover intervened, he reportedly insulted Grover.

When an entertainment portal spoke to the comedian, he rubbished the report. He added that, Sunil and he fight during every flight and even otherwise. He also clarified that it was a healthy fight and said, “We fight for (which means in the interest of, in Sharma’s infamous English!) good work.”

The news spread like wildfire thanks to social media and the ‘Net and there were strong rumors about the self-respecting Grover quitting the show. Sharma, posted his side of the story in the form of a clarification on social media, which read as follows:

“Hi.. good morning friends .. was celebrating my best time n suddenly I heard a news about me n sunil paji fighting.. first of all see where it is coming from.. what r the intentions behind this.. if I fought with him in the flight then who saw it n informed u.. is he trustworthy..? The telling thing is that Grover is yet to speak anything beyond “No comments!” even as buzz grows that he is he planning to quit “The Kapil Sharma Show.” He plays several characters, including Dr. Mashoor Gulati, Rinku Devi and Suryaprakash on the show. Sources say that he will have a meeting with the producers before taking the extreme step.

A ‘source’ (unidentified) is reported to have told the media, “Sunil is numbed by the way Kapil assaulted him during a flight from Melbourne. He was merely trying to calm down Kapil, who was drunk and hurling abuses at another team member, Chandan Prabhakar, who plays the ‘chaiwalla’ (tea-vendor).”

Earlier, Prabhakar had not liked the way Sharma spoke to him and retaliated by saying, “Tu hoga Kapil Sharma (you may be Kapil Sharma), but you can’t speak to me like this.” Sharma had retaliated with “Thappad maroonga tujhe (I will slap you)!” According to a spot boy (a portal reports), Prabhakar had checked out of the hotel where the show’s team was staying, as Sharma was abusing him. Their face-off started again when he joined the team at the airport.

An unidentified source told the media, “A female passenger asked Sharma to keep quiet, so Grover told him, ‘Paaji tussi gaali mat do (Don’t abuse anyone).’ This angered Kapil further and he started abusing him and said, ‘Teri aukaat kya hai jo tu mujhko aisa bole’ (What are your worth that you speak to me like that?)” Grover also lost his temper but was stopped by the other members of the team. He then walked to the economy class but Sharma followed him and hit him, the same source said.

Reportedly, Sharma even hurled abuses at colleagues Ali Asgar (who plays Naani) and Kiku Sharda, calling them “per day artistes” or daily wage earners. He even threatened to end their acts on his show.

Grover has ‘unfollowed’ Sharma on Twitter. Sharma, however, still follows him. It is said that Grover is unlikely to return to Sharma’s show as he is very hurt with his disrespectful behavior.

Sharma’s Facebook page had angry fans asking him to apologize to Grover and others in his team, stating that they were indispensable to his show and he should not turn arrogant.

Meanwhile, we await an official statement by Grover.
