Pictures of the very pregnant model-turned-actor Shveta Salve, clad in a bikini, surfaced on the Internet recently. Salve's mommy-to-be avatar was applauded by fans and her peers. It's uncommon in India to spot a pregnant woman with a bare belly, but there have been some daring ones, such as actresses Tara Sharma and Konkona Sen-Sharma, who have posed for magazines in the past with their bare, pregnant bellies.

Salve, who is expecting her first baby, posted multiple pictures from her beach babymoon in a two-piece swimsuit. At the ongoing Lakme India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016, supermodel Carol Gracias broke all the stereotypes as she sashayed down the ramp flaunting her baby bump for designer Gaurang Shah. The former "Bigg Boss" contestant, 37, flaunted a beautiful green and pink sari from Gaurang's collection "Calico," paying reverence to the aesthetics of early 20th century Indian royalty.

Gracias had a cameo in the movie "Being Cyrus." She has appeared in the music video for the song "Right Here Right Now" from the movie "Bluffmaster," and she was also a housemate on "Bigg Boss," as well as a contestant in "Khatron ke khiladi."

Salve has acted in many shows such as "Hip Hip Hurray," "Left Right Left," "Lipstick" and "Kaahin Kissii Roz." She also took part in reality shows like "Khatron Ke Khiladi" and "Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa."

Becoming a mother is a moment of pride in any woman's life. The two ladies look absolutely stunning in these pictures. In India it is still considered a taboo to flaunt a bare pregnant belly, and many moms-to-be believe in hiding behind layers of clothing due to social norms. But with celebrities taking the lead and making it fashionable to show off their baby bump, will it become a trend? Guess we will have to wait and see.
