MUMBAI—After ruling reality television as the No 1 non-fiction show across Hindi GECs this year and delighting audiences with melodious renditions and bright performances of the most talented child singers across the country, the sixth season of Zee TV’s singing reality show “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs” drew to an exciting finish last weekend.

Shreyan Bhattacharya and Anjali Gaikwad were declared the winners amidst a lot of celebrations in Jaipur. Kolkata prodigy Bhattacharya and the Ahmednagar powerhouse Gaikwad were awarded the coveted trophy in the finale, which also saw the presence of actor Kapil Sharma promoting his upcoming film “Firangi,” along with host Aditya Narayan and judges Himesh Reshammiya, Neha Kakkar and Javed Ali.

The winners walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh each and the runners-up who put up a tough fight were given a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh each.

Talking about his victory, Shreyan Bhattacharya said, “‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs’ has been a great learning experience for me. The mentors and grand jury members have been very supportive and encouraging of our talent throughout our journey, and that has greatly added to my abilities as a performer. Our training and practice sessions have helped us in our overall performances. I have developed some truly special bonds with a few of the jury members that I will cherish for life. I am very excited to have won and want to thank Zee TV for the opportunity.”

Gaikwad said, “Winning ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs’ has been a dream come true. I thank my stars that I got selected as one of the challengers in the second round of auditions, and since then the journey has been incredible. I have learned so much from all the jury and all the super talented fellow contestants. The judges and mentors have helped us hone our skills with their positive and constructive feedback. The experience has helped me grow as a person, and I am thankful to Zee TV and this platform.”
