King Fish - 500 gms
Shallots - 75 gms
Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tablespooon
Green chillies - 5
cokum - 3- previously placed in some warm water.
Chillie powder - 1 tablespoon
Turmeric powder - a pinch
Fish curry powder - 1 tablespoon
Mustard seeds, Curry leaves, Fenugreek seeds - for tempering
Salt - as needed
Coconut Oil - as needed to fry
Heat coconut oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and wait till they splutter. Add curry leaves and fenugreek seeds. Then add sliced shallots, ginger-garlic paste and green chillies. Saute till they are golden brown. Add chillie powder, fish curry powder and turmeric. Saute for a few more minutes. Then add the cokum water. When it starts simmering add the fish pieces. Cook for 10 minutes. Serve hot.
