Electrolux has chosen Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty to endorse its range of water purifiers soon to be launched in India.
As a woman on the move and a mother, too, Shetty fits perfectly with the brand’s image, according to a press release. Electrolux is planning to tap into the premium high-end water purifier market, and the company hopes Shetty will appeal to consumers as a brand ambassador.
Catering to the needs of elite customers, Electrolux RO Water Purifiers will offer a variety of models to suit designer kitchens. The range of water purifiers will not only deliver the best on innovation and performance, but also include features for which premium domestic manufacturers are known, the press release added.
Electrolux is seeking to meet the demands of the growing water purifier industry in India, with the market expected to scale up to Rs. 7,000 crore by 2015 from its present Rs. 3,200 crore.
With the amount of information available to the public about what is in our water, and how bad it actually is, it's hard to believe that water purifier companies need to hire spokes people. Once people become less ignorant, and realize the potential dangers, they will be lining up for water purifiers, no matter the brand name.
