Social activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi said she had no regrets about being booted out of the “Bigg Boss” house this week as her purpose of highlighting the cause of transgender individuals has been served.
Tripathi, who has been actively advocating the cause for 12 years now, had her first brush with reality television via “Dus ka Dum,” which was hosted by Bollywood actor Salman Khan, followed by the controversial “Sach Ka Saamna” two years ago.
“Salman Khan, like a true man, had the guts to stand by a transgender and had me as a guest on ‘Dus ka Dum.’ By signing up for ‘Bigg Boss,’ I wanted to show the world that even a transgender can live a normal life with love and harmony. They need not be treated differently,” Tripathi told PTI over the phone from Mumbai.
Tripathi was one of the 14 contestants who entered the “Bigg Boss” house at the beginning of the season hosted by Sanjay Dutt and Khan.
She was nominated this week along with Pooja Misra, Mahek Chahal and Akashdeep Saigal.
