Saavn, an easy-to-use music app which allows users to search for and play the best songs from Bollywood, bhangra, bhajans and ghazals, was named “Best Mobile Music Service” at the Internet and Mobile Association of India’s prestigious India Digital Media Awards here Jan. 18.

Saavn won out over Spice Mobile Radio, Reliance MusicMania, Hexolabs’ Mobile Antakshari, and Dawnsun Technologies’ iBoomBox Tuner in its category.

Saavn allows users to create and save their own playlists, access the latest hits with new releases, and listen to Saavn’s weekly top 15. The app is created on iPhone and Android platforms and promises “the highest quality audio and the largest catalog anywhere” of free and legal music.
