“Kochadaiyaan — The Legend,” blurbed a “futuristic fantasy film,” combines state-of-the-art technology with superstar Rajnikanth and is India’s answer to films like “Avatar” and “Tin Tin.” A media meet was held in the U.K. March 31 to announce the film.
Starring megastar Rajnikanth and produced by the British company Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited, and will be released worldwide by Eros International. The film features for the first time the unique Performance Capturing with Photorealistic Technology. This state-of-the-art advanced technology transcends the CGI capabilities utilized in Hollywood films such as “Avatar,” “Tin Tin” and “BeoWulf.”
The grand good-versus-evil saga stars Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff (25 years after Rajni and he co-starred in “Uttar Dakshin”) and South India’s leading stars R. Sarathkumar, Aadhi and Shobhana.
The British-funded project, which has been shot exclusively at Pinewood Studios in the U.K. with a team of world-class technical experts, is directed by Soundarya, Rajnikanth’s daughter, with music by A.R. Rahman.
The film is set to have a multi-lingual release and is Rajnikanth’s first film after the 2010 “Robot” and his prolonged illness.
