A new store in ‘Little India’ hopes to change the way brides and grooms prepare for their weddings by creating a one-stop shop where newlyweds-to-be can consider all their options, from cakes and catering to deejays and venues, from floral decorations to wedding planning, and everything in between.
Imagine a full-on wedding expo available in storefront format and accessible every day of the week. Founded by Neema Lodhia, the Wedding Store 24 dubs itself “the everyday bridal expo.”
A slice of the unique business model was on display at “The Wedding Show for the Modern Bride” at the Doubletree Hotel here April 1.
Lodhia told India-West that the wedding show and her store in Little India serve as the ultimate resource for newlyweds.
“We are the only wedding resource studio in the Indian community. Wedding Store 24 is comprised of 24 categories, with three vendors in each category, and whereby each vendor is provided with a display to showcase their products and services,” Lodhia explained.
“Ultimately this creates for the most ideal and efficient shopping experience all under one roof, and providing convenience to the bride and groom in choosing the most qualified vendors for their big event.”
Essentially, Lodhia has brought the wedding expo to Pioneer Boulevard. She noted that while ballroom-style events have value, the ability to access wedding vendors in one place at any given time does not have to be limited to an event that takes place once a year.
Lodhia’s concept allows for newlyweds to interact with potential wedding vendors in an intimate setting at their respective convenience.
“Wedding Store 24 allows brides and vendors to meet at the store located in the heart of Little India for a one-on-one consultation,” Lodhia said.
“Wedding Store 24 - Your Everyday Bridal Expo in Artesia has more than 40 vendors who have a display in the store. The store is more valuable than any bridal expo or show because of the convenient location/hours, a personal wedding consultant, and more than 40 vendors to choose from.”
Lodhia still plans to have quarterly mixer events similar to the April 1 wedding show, where newlyweds can get a taste of the service they can expect to receive at Wedding Show 24’s store in Artesia.
Lodhia said that events such as a wedding show complement the store to help brand the unique concept and business model.
A show such as the Wedding Store 24 Wedding Show For The Modern Bride “is an integral part that solidifies WS24’s name within the wedding industry,” the Indian American businesswoman said.
“The general idea is to allow brides and grooms to become aware that they don’t have to attend a bridal show scheduled on one specific day or time, but rather they can come to WS24 on a weekly basis and get the same information that they would at a bridal show that is typically held once or twice a year.”
The vendors present at The Wedding Show for the Modern Bride included AA Creation Photo and Video, Amazing Cake Creations, Atrina and Co., Barker Decor Services, Dial M for Makeup, Henna Dil Se, Karmagraphy Bollywood Fusion Dance Troupe, Kismet Events, Luminarias Restaurant and Banquet, My Flower Guy Doyle, My Specialty Cakes, Natraj Cuisine of India, Pacific Bakery, Precision DJ’s, Royal Kabob, Shawna Yamamoto Event Design, Special Occasions DJ and Lighting and Sugar Sugar Candy Buffet, among others.
