Bradly Ivan D’Souza, a junior at Sycamore High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, participated in the Regional Youth Leadership program this year.

The leadership development program provided the opportunity for youth to engage in intellectual seminars with community leaders and develop leadership skills through various workshops and networking segments.
During the program, the Indian American student delivered a presentation on local government and economic development issues.
Sixteen-year-old D’Souza was also commissioned as a Kentucky colonel during an announcement from Kentucky Governor Steven L. Beshear.
On March 11, D’Souza attended a graduation ceremony hosted by RYL and received an award for his completion of the program from Tom Wiechman, Regional Youth Program chair, and training section commander Captain Douglas Wiesman.
“The RYL experience was fun. It increased my confidence and courage to make the right choices. Now it has made me work, think and contribute to my community,” said D’Souza.
