    Meru Networks, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based wireless networking firm, has promoted Sarosh Vesuna from business development VP to GM, education; hired Manish Rai as VP, vertical and product marketing; and promoted Kamal Anand from senior VP, product management to GM, hospitality and entertainment. Before Meru, Vesuna was senior director, strategy and business development, at Motorola. Rai was head, industry solution marketing, at Aruba Networks. Anand ran Meru’s international sales unit.

    • Milford, Conn.-based Thinklogical, a provider of video routing, has appointed Vikram “Vik” Desai executive VP, worldwide sales. He was formerly president, cloud-focused advanced services business unit, at Earthlink; and COO at Radware. Desai is on the boards of directors at Security Innovation, Weston Software and NextCloud.

    • Vishal Khanduja has joined the taxable fixed income team at Bethesda, Md.-based Calvert Investments as portfolio manager, Calvert Government Fund and the Calvert Ultra-Short Income Fund. He worked on the global rates and currency teams at Columbia Management; and was associate director, fixed income analytics, at Galliard Capital Management, both in Minneapolis, Minn. Khanduja has a B.S. in engineering from the Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute and an MBA in investment management from the University of Iowa’s Henry B. Tippie School of Management.

    Barnes & Noble, a New York-based retailer of books and digital media, has named Kanuj Malhotra corporate development VP. He most recently was VP and finance head, graduate programs business unit, at Kaplan Test Prep. Malhotra was also senior VPO and CFO at Cendant Corp. and worked in the mergers and acquisition group at Lehman Brothers. He has an MBA in finance and B.A. in economics, both from New York University.

    • Houston, Texas-based Joule Processing, LLC, a provider of natural gas processing and treating solutions, has appointed Museeb Sharieff (see image - right) operations VP. He led engineering and design at GasTech Engineering, LLC; and held lead mechanical engineering posts at CB&I and Mustang Engineering. Sharieff has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Bangalore University.

    • Sonal Puri, VP, sales, marketing and business development, at Milpitas, Calif.-based WAN optimization firm Aryaka, has been recognized by UBM Channel’s CRN Magazine as one of the Women of the Channel in 2012. She led the launch of Emergence, Aryaka’s alliance program. Prior to Aryaka, Puri was business development director at Akamai Technologies.

    • Mountain, View-Calif.-based Violin Memory, a provider of scalable flash memory arrays, has appointed Jagdeep “JD” Singh VP, worldwide customer advocacy. He was VP, global field advocacy, at Aruba Networks; senior director, global customer advocacy, at Nortel Networks; and held posts at 3Com, Auspex Systems and Tandem Computers.

    • Neeraj Agrawal, GM at Battery Ventures, has joined the board of directors at Tealium, after Battery led a $10.5 million series “B” round of funding in the firm.
