CBRE Group Inc. announced that Sanjiv Yajnik, Indian American president of Capital One Financial Services, has joined the company’s board of directors. Yajnik is also president and director of Capital One National Association, one of Capital One’s two national bank subsidiaries, and serves on Capital One’s executive committee. In addition, he serves as the company's president of the South-Central Region. Yajnik received an M.B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and completed the executive management program at Stanford University. He also graduated from the Marine Engineering Research Institute in India.

Vibhu Kaushik, director of Grid Technology and Modernization at Southern California Edison, was named as one of the 2017 Public Utilities Fortnightly Top 40 Innovators. Kaushik was recognized for leading a team that developed the world's first battery and gas turbine hybrid system at two SCE peaker generating stations. This system will improve SCE’s ability to integrate more renewable power and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, important to meet the state’s aggressive climate goals. Public Utilities Fortnightly is a leading publication in the utility industry.

Dr. Sudhakar N. Chandurkar, a recently retired cardiologist from Premier Physicians, has been named a 2017 Top Doctor in Westlake, Ohio. Chandurkar gained a wealth of experience as a cardiologist, and was in practice for more than five decades. His career started in 1960 when he graduated from the Government Medical College of Nagpur in India, after which he completed an internship at the Nagpur Medical College Hospital. He completed a residency at the Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York, followed by a fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Chandurkar is dual board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Narvar, a post-purchase experience firm, named Srivatsa Narasimhan as VP of India Operations. Narasimhan brings more than 20 years of experience in engineering, product management and services. Most recently, as GM of Zynga India, Narasimhan managed a portfolio of three global game products generating $15M a quarter. At Narvar, he'll be responsible for building and scaling the India organization to enable the growth plans of the company globally, while helping establish the company's presence in India and other emerging Asia-Pacific markets.

Dr. Ravi Durvasula has been named chair of the department of medicine of Loyola Medicine and Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Durvasula has held senior leadership positions at Yale University and the Veterans Administration and has conducted groundbreaking research in global infectious diseases. Most recently, he was a professor of medicine and infectious diseases and director of the Center for Global Health at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Durvasula earned his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine/Methodist Hospital in Houston. He completed a fellowship in infectious diseases at Yale University School of Medicine.

• International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP has announced that it has named 16 new partners in the firm, effective Jan. 1, 2018. Among the hires includes Fara Sunderji, who specializes in trademark, for its New York office.
