CompuCom Systems Inc., a technology infrastructure services company, announced that experienced strategy executive Hardik Shah has joined the company as chief strategy officer. Before joining the company, he worked at Gartner and Lenovo. Additionally, Shah served as a strategy consultant for McKinsey and Company. Shah earned a bachelor’s from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and a master’s from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Blue Jay named Himanshu Nigam technical project manager. Prior to joining Blue Jay, he worked as a consultant who specialized in managing development, migration and integration projects and implemented several barcode technology and e-commerce solutions in telecom, supply-chain and healthcare industries. He was a professor at RPI in Troy, N.Y., before he got into the IT industry. He has a doctorate from the University of Rhode Island and an undergraduate degree in from IIT Kanpur.

Intrexon Corporation announced the appointment of Vinita Gupta to its board of directors. Gupta is currently the CEO of Lupin Limited, a global pharmaceutical company developing and delivering a wide range of branded and generic formulations, biotechnology products and APIs. She has also served as the CEO and chairperson of Lupin Pharmaceuticals Inc., the U.S. wholly owned subsidiary of Lupin, since 2003 and as a director on the board of Lupin's Japanese subsidiary Kyowa Pharmaceuticals since 2007. She graduated from the University of Mumbai with a degree in pharmacy and received her M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Schwan’s Company named Tony Puri executive VP of SFC Global Supply Chain Inc., a subsidiary of Schwan’s Company. Puri brings more than 30 years of food-industry experience to his new role. Most recently, he worked at CSM Bakery Solutions. Prior to CSM, he worked in leadership and general management roles with several global companies, among them Cadbury, Warner Lambert, Kraft and Mondelez International. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Rutgers University and an M.B.A. from Rockford College in Illinois.

Polycom Inc., an enterprise grade business communication solutions company, named Tarun Loomba executive VP of solutions management. Loomba, a Silicon Valley veteran, brings more than 20 years of experience in engineering and product management-focused leadership roles in the technology industry. He has worked at SanDisk, Armanta, ParAccel and Seagate Technology in leadership roles. Loomba, who earned degrees at the University of Michigan and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, will be based at the company’s San Jose, Calif., headquarters.

Virginia Tech graduate student Siddhartha Roy, of Varanasi, India, was named the 2017 Virginia Tech Graduate School student of the year. Roy is a doctoral candidate in the College of Engineering’s civil and environmental engineering program.

American Cannabis Company Inc. announced the addition of Dr. Av Singh to its SoHum Advisory Board. Prior to serving as the organic and small-scale farming specialist in Nova Scotia, Singh worked at the Organic Agriculture Center of Canada and currently holds a position as chair at the Just Us! Center for Small Farms. Singh is also a faculty member at Earth University in India.
