HARMAN International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. focused on connected technologies for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets, announced that actress, singer, producer and philanthropist Priyanka Chopra has been named a global brand ambassador for the company’s JBL and Harman Kardon audio brands. Chopra will participate in a series of marketing initiatives including social media and brand awareness events for JBL and Harman Kardon. After being crowned Miss World, Chopra made her foray into the entertainment industry and soon catapulted to international stardom. She was named one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2017.

Indian American Preeti Patel was appointed as the VP of technology at Rauxa in New York. Prior to joining Rauxa, Patel was the senior director of technology at digital agency Huge. Prior to Huge, Patel also held positions at The Marlin Company and 360i. Patel is a graduate of MIT and holds three patents for electronic media communication, creation and distribution systems.

OncoResponse named Anil Singhal and Kamal D. Puri to the management team. Singhal joins OncoResponse from AbbVie, where he helped build an impressive portfolio and key translational science capabilities in oncology, immunology and other diseases. Puri joins from Celgene, where he discovered new molecular entities for the immunology pipeline and identified and supported new indications for portfolio molecules. Drs. Singhal and Puri have been appointed chief scientific officer and VP of research and development, respectively.

• CampusWorks, a strategic higher education consulting firm, named Mahendran Jawaharlal president. Additionally, he will become CEO July 1. Jawaharlal joins CampusWorks from Macmillan Enterprise Services Group. Previously, he spent a decade at Campus Management Corporation, most recently as COO. He holds a B.A. from Monmouth College in Illinois and an M.B.A. from Florida International University.

• PellePharm, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to targeting rare genetic dermatological conditions at the source, named Dr. Sanuj K. Ravindran president and CEO. Subsequently, he will join BridgeBio Pharma, PellePharm’s lead investor, as CEO-in-Residence, to advance its broader orphan dermatology portfolio. Ravindran was previously chief business officer at aTyr Pharma. Prior to that, he was senior VP of corporate development for The Medicines Company. He began his industry career as a venture capitalist with Burrill & Company, Radius Ventures and Asian Healthcare Fund. He received his B.A. from Northwestern University, his M.D. from Jefferson Medical College and his M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management.

STRATACACHE announced that Manish Kumar is joining STRATACACHE Capital as VP of investments of Asia Pacific, moving on from his previous role spearheading STRATACACHE digital solutions sales and operations in India. Kumar first joined STRATACACHE in 2013, initiating and overseeing growth in the Indian market while leading sales, development, customer relations and operations in this strategic market. As a result of his work, STRATACACHE's global footprint has expanded to be the industry leader in digital signage throughout India. He holds a master's in project management and master’s in technology management from the Australian National University with an M.B.A. in marketing. Prior to joining STRATACACHE, he was VP at ContentKeeper Technologies.
