Mutual of Omaha named Vibhu R. Sharma executive VP, chief financial officer and treasurer. Sharma spent 17 years in public accounting at KPMG before joining reinsurance firm Collins Associates, where he served as CFO and COO. He joined Zurich Insurance Group in 2008, serving in various leadership roles. A graduate of Southern Methodist University, Sharma is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from SMU and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Akebia Therapeutics Inc., a biopharmaceutical company, named Dr. Rita Jain senior VP and chief medical officer. Jain joins Akebia from AbbVie where she most recently was the VP of men’s and women’s health and metabolic development. She also worked at Pharmacia Corp and the North Shore University Hospital. Jain earned her medical degree at the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine and her B.S. from LIU/C.W. Post.

Shapiro+Raj named Muhammad Asim managing director of its Health and Wellness Practice in Chicago. Asim was previously senior VP and head of U.S. operations at Purdie Pascoe. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at Ipsos where he led the med-tech team. Asim graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in human and organizational development.

Citi has appointed Manish Kohli as the global head of the payments and receivables business. Prior to this role, Kohli was global head of commercial cards. He joined Citi India in 1997 as a management associate in trade operations. He has since worked in a variety of roles in Citi’s businesses in India, EMEA and globally across payments, receivables, trade and cards. He holds a bachelor of business studies and an M.B.A. in finance from University of Delhi.

Luxfer Holdings PLC announced that Alok Maskara was appointed to the board of directors. Maskara also became CEO of the group. Most recently Maskara was president of the Technical Solutions global business segment of Pentair PLC., working there for eight years as president of progressively larger global business units, including Residential Filtration, Water Purification and Thermal Management. He has also worked at General Electric Corporation and McKinsey & Company. Maskara holds an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, a master's from the University of New Mexico and a bachelor's from IIT Mumbai.

inVibe Labs named Sunny Shah VP of insights. Shah has spent his career in the pharma marketing research and strategy field, beginning at C Space Health and Kantar Health. Most recently, he was an engagement manager for the audience and media team at Symphony Health Solutions. A graduate of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Shah will also spearhead the company’s ongoing collection and analysis of large data streams to identify and evaluate trends within the healthcare space.

Nearmap named Sanchit Agarwal VP of field operations for the location content provider specializing in high-resolution aerial imagery. He previously worked for Sanborn, HJW Geospatial, Fugro and for NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Program at The Ohio State University. He is a graduate of IIT and Ohio State.
