• The Sikh Coalition named Amrith Kaur its new legal director. Outgoing legal director Harsimran Kaur will remain with the organization in a part-time strategic legal consulting role and will also provide training, support and institutional memory to the legal program. Amrith Kaur joins the Sikh Coalition team with 11 years of litigation experience working as an assistant state’s attorney in Cook County, Illinois. In addition to Kaur’s experience, she also arrives with a strong understanding of the Sikh Coalition’s work. After 9/11, she co-drafted a Senate resolution that successfully strengthened existing hate crime prosecution and participated in the grassroots activism that led to the formation of the organization.

U.C. Berkeley's Institute for South Asian Studies has named Professor Munis D. Faruqui its new director. Since his arrival at U.C. Berkeley in 2005, Faruqui has been extensively involved in the Institute's activities. He has served multiple stints on the Institute's Executive Committee and various grant-giving committees, and has actively participated in the Institute’s programming activities.

Old Dominion National Bank named Sushil Clarence executive VP. Clarence has 30 years of financial services experience in the region, the last 13 of which he spent with Cardinal Bank, which was acquired by United Bank in April of this year. Prior to that, he was at BB&T, Columbia First Bank in Arlington, Va., and National Bank of Washington. Clarence earned his B.S. from the University of South Dakota and M.B.A. from the University of North Texas, as well as a B.S. in physics from Osmania University in India.

FMC Corporation named Pramod Thota, business director for FMC Global Specialty Solutions, has been named India country president and Agricultural Solutions business director for FMC. Thota joined FMC in 2012. Prior to FMC, Thota was at Booz & Company. Thota holds an M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, as well as a master's degree from Virginia Tech and a bachelor's from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.

• announced that Ashwani Verma has joined the firm to lead its Risk Assurance and Advisory Practice. He joins BPM from PwC where he served as managing director of risk assurance. Prior to PwC, Verma was head of internal audit at Molina Healthcare with enterprise wide responsibilities of internal audit, SOX compliance and enterprise risk management. Additionally Verma has served in a leadership role at Deloitte & Touche LLP.

The Andersons Inc. named Srikanth Dasari VP and treasurer. Most recently he worked at Westinghouse Electric Company. Prior to that he was at Dow Corning and Owens-Illinois Inc. Dasari is a graduate of Osmania University in India, The University of Toledo and the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Exostar named Dipto Chakravarty as its CTO. Chakravarty comes to Exostar from CA Technologies. Prior to CA, Chakravarty held executive positions at ThreatTrack Security, Novell and Thomson-Reuters, and began his career as a software engineer at IBM and Bell Labs after graduating from the University of Maryland.
