• The Dallas office of Perkins+Will, a global architecture and design firm, has hired Vandana Nayak to lead the K-12 and Higher Education practice in Texas and the Southwest U.S. Nayak will lead regional strategy and client engagement in education across Texas, and will oversee the Dallas office’s education studio. A graduate of Bangalore University in Karnataka, India, the Indian American has worked at a number of educational institutions across north Texas including Frisco ISD, Grand Prairie ISD, McKinney ISD, Lewisville ISD, Denton ISD, Texas Woman’s University, Dallas County Community College District, University of North Texas, University of Texas at Dallas and Texas A&M University.

• Global content company Lionsgate has named media executive and entrepreneur Rohit Jain to head its new office in Mumbai. Jain has served for the past seven years as deputy CEO of Videocon d2h. He helped orchestrate Videocon's successful listing on Nasdaq in 2015 followed by the announcement of its merger with Dish TV India in 2016. Prior to his tenure at Videocon, Jain worked at Aon, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte.

Azure Power, an independent solar power producer in India, announced that R.P. Singh, former chairman and managing director of Power Grid Corporation, a government of India enterprise and India’s largest electric transmission utility, was appointed to Azure Power’s board of directors as an independent non-executive director. Singh is known for his contributions in the Indian power sector, particularly the establishment of the national power transmission grid and modern load dispatch centers.

Azure Power has also appointed Sushil Bhagat, former CFO of Hindustan Power Projects Ltd., as the new chief financial officer. Bhagat comes on board with over 30 years of experience of working with corporate and investment banking and then transitioning to. As a previous investment banker, he raised $12-plus billion of funds and led complex advisory and M&A assignments across all infrastructure sectors. Subsequently, he has headed finance, commercial and strategy functions at Coastal Projects and helped it achieve an enterprise value of over $4 billion in six years. Bhagat has supervised 1,200 MWs of thermal and 400+MWs of solar power assets while at HPPL. He has also served in various corporate leadership roles at Coastal Projects, Wachovia, Axis Bank and State Bank Group.

• The Prescott Group, a real estate, private equity firm, announced that Anar Shah has joined the Dallas-based firm as managing director. She joins the firm from Citigroup in New York. Shah collectively raised over $2.1 billion in capital for third party, private equity, real estate and hedge funds through institutions, family offices and high net worth clients while at Citi. She has also worked at Waterstreet Investment Consultants, Morgan Stanley and AIM Management Group.

Nutanix appointed Inder Sidhu as executive VP of global customer success and business operations. Previously Sidhu served as senior VP of strategy and planning for worldwide sales at Cisco, helping grow the company's annual revenue from $1 billion to $50 billion. Prior to Cisco, Sidhu was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, an engineer with Intel and an entrepreneur at Excelan, a successful Silicon Valley start-up, through its IPO.
