The Front Desk Manager directs and controls the activities of the Front Desk and acts as the manager on duty in the hotel, responds to a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing the guest needs and requests and then adding personal recommendations and touches to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all SureStay by Best Western Polices. Essential Functions: 1) Registers guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible. 2) Assists in preregistration and blocking of rooms for reservations. 3) Thoroughly understands and adheres to proper credit, check and cash handling policies and procedures 4) Knows room locations, types of rooms available and room rates. 5) Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel. 5) Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying housekeeping of all check outs, late checkouts, early check-ins, special requests and day use rooms. 6) Possesses a working knowledge of reservations procedures. Takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary.
