MUMBAI—Akshay Kumar will be seen as a pregnant man in the promo of his next venture in television, as the super boss of the iconic comedy show “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.” Kumar is set to take the audiences by storm once again with his new avatar in the show.

Taking this bold step, Kumar never had second thoughts about being the first pregnant Indian man, proudly showcasing his baby bump in the interesting promo of his TV show. The actor, along with wife Twinkle Khanna, has never shied from discussing and sharing their opinions on unconventional topics that others feel shy about!

Talking about his new role and look, Kumar said in a media release, “I used to follow the show before since I am a huge fan of comedy. When the makers approached me, I immediately gave the nod. I understand how difficult as a profession and passion it is to make people laugh. With such an interesting concept and script to launch the announcement of the show, I didn’t shy away as the ‘first pregnant man’ of the nation as I always believe in being versatile. After nine years, the show is launching its fifth season, and I am all set to deliver the next generation of comedy superstars.”

Known his clutter-breaking roles in his movies and for getting into the nitty-gritty of a character, Kumar went all out for the shoot of the promo. From acting to having food cravings just like a woman to being excited and nervous about delivering a child, Kumar got completely into character. This time around, we see him deliver more children, that is, “Comedy Ke Naye Superstars (the new superstars of comedy)!”

“The Great Indian Laughter show” has popular comedians, Zakir Khan, Mallika Dua and Hussain Dalal as mentors. “I can’t wait to launch the show and start a laughter riot,” Kumar signed off.
